We were seated outside in the patio on a beautiful September day. We could not have gotten a better seat! We decided on Lobster bar for lunch. I ordered the tomato basil pesto panini and my daughter ordered the clam roll. Our server was quick to return with our lunch. The panini had a great flavor and the clam roll was abundant with clams, which is not the norm in Newport. Both of us were happy with our choices and would return again.

I felt our experience deserved more than 3 stars as was the average star rating at the time of writing this. Went here for lunch with some colleagues Food was solid, great lobster roll, even got extra lobster to go with it. Drinks were good, bloody marry was great, could have been a touch stronger. Service was great, we also weren't eating during a busy rush. So I also feel that this contributed to better quality all around. Ambiance, if you want a fun lunch with great views and sounds this is the place for you. This isn't a place for an elegant meal, it's open to the water allowing for great views, you'll hear the marina, the boats, the people. It's more of an experience on the water and less of a wine/dine place.

Stopped in for a quick lunch. Great service (Ema). We had 2 appetizers and the Fish and Chips (no photo), very good. Great location, right on the water.

The place was super spacious! Came in with a lot of family members for the navy ceremony. I love that the restaurant was near the waters and the view was amazing on a good day. My family mainly got the lobster that was market priced ($50-70). Mixed responses to the lobster due to the Cole slaw. But they love the freshness of the lobster. Warm lobster rolls were also market priced but was about $56-57. Dill on it was slightly over powering, but delicious. Oyster platter was 16 oysters for $56, they were small and watery, but fresh tasting! We also got the calamari. The batter was airy and crispy! The banana peppers were probably pickled and slightly spicy, great for contrasting flavors. The service was more to be desired. Our waitress forgot our waters and small appetizers plates 45 mins into service. We had to ask her for them even after receiving our appetizers. And had to ask for multiple items for the fresh boiled lobster.

I love lobsters so this restaurant was right up my alley. It's large with beautiful views of the ocean. We were visiting Newport and decided to get lunch there. The service was great. The interior was bright and airy; they even have outdoor seating on the deck but we opted for air conditioning. I started off with a New England clam chowder which was delicious; it had bacon, potato, clams, and light cream. My entree was a whole steamed 1-1/4 lb lobster with a side of cole slaw and fries. The lobster comes with butter, a tool to break open lobster, and a bucket for the shells. The food was fresh and delectable. If you love lobster, I highly recommend this place.

The food was very good. You really can't beat seafood on the Newport waterfront. Service was pretty good, but the waitress did mess up and then correct our order. The ambiance was impeccable and the main dining room could fit an Army. It's well-worth the visit to The Lobster Bar!

I was slightly apprehensive going into The Lobster Bar since prices were higher than its competitors (especially for the lobster roll), but was pleasantly surprised overall and still dream about their fried whole belly clams. First of all, love that they take reservations and the ambiance is pretty unbeatable with its waterfront view and wraparound deck to enjoy the sunset, boats, and breeze from while you eat. As for the food: + Fisherman's Platter ($29) + add fried clams ($16): I'm not usually a fried foods girlie, but the fried clams were SO good. For the add-on price of $16, we got about 8 clams. The fisherman's platter itself was better than expected: shrimp and scallops were lightly battered but the fish had a heavy, crunchy batter that I didn't like. + New England Clam Chowder ($11): Another excellent clam chowder chock full of clams. Between a bowl of this and picking at the Fisherman's Platter, I was very satisfied. Someone in my party also go the 1.25lb boiled lobster and based on the market price, it was $50. Bottom line: Skip the lobster here and get the clam chowder and fried clams!
